The menu here is a celebration of Mexico City’s street food culture, where bold flavors and familiar aromas come together effortlessly. Each dish, whether a freshly grilled taco filled with tender meat or a tangy, house-crafted salsa, invites you to explore layered tastes and textures that feel lovingly prepared rather than rushed. Pairing these vibrant bites with a cold michelada or one of the refreshing aguas frescas is a natural part of the experience, grounding the meal in local tradition with a carefree spirit.

For those visiting El Chilango, there’s an unmistakable sense of belonging—a casual nod to the everyday joys found in authentic, thoughtfully prepared Mexican fare. It’s a place where the simple act of sharing food encourages smiles, stories, and the becoming of familiar faces in a lively corner of Oklahoma City.

Stopped in for dinner on a Saturday with no wait. We got some tacos and pazole both were really good. Service was very fast and friendly. It is pretty loud in there with the music but overall good vibes. We really enjoyed dinner!

It’s a lively atmosphere, full of enjoyment and energy. The portions are generous, and the food is both authentic and delicious. The staff is attentive without being overbearing. Ample parking is available, and the venue is handicapped-friendly. They have a great cocktail and juice selection offer a kid-friendly menu, prices are $. We will definitely be visiting again, and I suggest you do, too.

Recently visited this lively restaurant, drawn in by its great reviews and vibrant weekend atmosphere, filled with music and energy. Given the number of Mexican restaurants and food trucks nearby, I had plenty of options, but I wanted to give this spot a try. I ordered the enchiladas with salsa verde, served with rice and beans, along with a michelada. The server brought out a generous spread of chips, salsa, fresh pineapples, and three different salsa picantes. While the presentation was impressive, the salsas lacked the heat I was hoping for—even the salsa picantes were quite mild. The enchiladas had a decent flavor, though nothing standout. Overall, I’d rate the enchiladas and chips with salsa a 3.5, but I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu. They offer a variety of dishes not typically available at food trucks, and I’m looking forward to trying something different next time!

Walked in for lunch and seated immediately. Staff is friendly. Food was good however the potatoes were cold. I thought we walked through the wrong door at first because of the mannequin with a mask at the front lol

This restaurant 8s delicious and everyone is so friendly and observant in service! Our server noticed I had my purse on my lap or hanging off my knee at times. She immediately brought me a "purse tree" to hang it on. So nice!

The Meat is very similar to Char Sui if you’re familiar with that Chinese meat. Tastes like hoisin sauce and Chinese five spice… they top it with a pineapple salsa… love it! Idk if the service was “off” that night because they were serving a table with a bday party but we had to wait and flag them down for our bill and take out box. We never got the water bottle that we ordered :( The food was good though. **** UPDATE: 3/11/2025 - Visited last night and tried the chorizo cheese dip w/fresh mini tortillas. That was BOMB! Came back tonight and had Carlos as a waiter. His service and professionalism was 10/10!

If you have read the other reviews complaining about the crowd, go earlier or not on a weekend night. This place is popular, very common for a line to be out the door during busy times. Food was great. Cocktails were amazing. The staff was great during our visit. Great vibes, fun place to go with friends.
